VIENNA, 14 February 2020 – The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) will provide emergency response assistance to China to help fight the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19). A related project document was signed today by Ambassador WANG Qun, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations in Vienna, and LI Yong, Director General of UNIDO.
VIENNA, 14 January 2020 - The Italian Development Cooperation is contributing more than €4.55m to two UNIDO projects in Egypt and Iraq. A signing ceremony to launch the projects took place today at the UNIDO headquarters.
MADRID, 11 December 2019 - The United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 25) taking place from 2-15 December, has gathered the nations of the world to agree on how to implement the Paris Agreement, set to start on 1 January 2020. As the United Nation’s specialized agency promoting industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization and environmental sustainability, UNIDO is playing an important role in helping to meet the 2°C threshold of the Paris Agreement by working closely with its partners and Member States.
SHARM EL-SHEIKH, 16 December 2019 – During the World Youth Forum (WYF), LI Yong, the Director General of UNIDO, met with H.E. Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt to discuss the UNIDO flagship project in Egypt, the Programme for Country Partnership (PCP).
Sharm El Sheikh, 16 December 2019 – Director General LI Yong delivered the opening speech at the World Youth Forum stressing that the UNIDO's Youth Strategy seeks to mainstream youth across the Organization's strategic priorities and mandate.
On behalf of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), I would like to warmly welcome you at this panel session jointly organized by UNIDO and our honorable Russian partners – the Council of the Eurasian Women’s Forum established under the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Roscongress Foundation. Today’s session is devoted to the topic of “Women executives in building successful business models”. This is a topic which is particularly relevant in the context of our common aspiration to attain inclusive and sustainable development on the global, regional and national level.
