CIS countries - Improvement of industrial statistics and development of indicators of industrial performance for policy-relevant analysis

The objective of the project is to improve the institutional capacity of CIS countries implementing the recently adopted international standards of industrial statistics to enable the region’s NSOs to produce timely and internationally comparable statistics relevant to industrial development policy. The project targets both data producers and data users.

Greening Economies in the European Union’s Eastern Neighbourhood (EaP GREEN) programme

The programme aims to support the six Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries to move towards a green economy by decoupling economic growth from environmental degradation and resource depletion. It is structured around three components: (1) Governance and financing tools for sustainable production and consumption and green economy; (2) Strategic environmental assessment and environmental impact assessment accompanying the policy implementation of the above mentioned governance and financing tools; and (3) Demonstration projects.

Regional - Fostering inclusive and sustainable industrial development in the New Silk Road Economic Belt

The UNIDO project “Fostering inclusive and sustainable industrial development in the New Silk Road Economic Belt: Leveraging potentials of industrial parks, zones and cities in Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan” was formulated in partnership with the Asian Development Bank. The objective of the project is to contribute to the inclusive and sustainable industrial development (ISID) in the New Silk Road Economic Belt (NSREB). It is expected that a better understanding of the role of a new generation of science, industrial and technology parks, zones and cities in their various forms in pursuing ISID in the region.

Regional knowledge-sourcing platform on social inclusion of disadvantaged communities in Europe and Central Asia (the case of Hungary)

The objective of this regional project is to improve the social and economic inclusion of disadvantaged and marginalized population groups in Central, South, South East and Eastern Europe. The platform will be established by the project to facilitate the exchange of good practices and experiences, policy guidance and tools and to identify and support promising innovative business concepts and models. In Hungary, the project supports the social inclusion policies of the Government, and at the regional level, it supports the policy frameworks and targets of the European Commission.
