Employment Opportunities: How to Apply

Human Resource Management Branch

 Transition Period

  • The UNIDO online system for recruitment will go live in April 2008. In the transition period, a very limited number of posts which had been issued in March, would still be accepted under the old system.  For these positions, the “Apply” button will not be operational and candidates should refer to the instructions included in the individual Vacancy Announcement for such posts.

 New Online Application

  • All candidates applying for positions issued in April 2008, are required to apply on-line, clicking on the “Apply” button indicated at the end of the Vacancy Announcement for the post that he/she is interested.

  • Once you click on the “Apply” button you will be guided through the application system. In particular, you will be requested to complete the fields related to your personal data, language and computer skills, education and employment records.  You will also be requested to answer some specific questions related to the Vacancy Announcement.  It is important to answer all the required fields.

  • Once you have finished filling in all the required fields, you will be requested to “submit” your application.  Once this is done, your application will be logged into the system and supposing that you requested a reply you will receive an automated response or acknowledgement to the email address you provided. Please do not reply to this email.

  • When you are working on your application, it is important to save your data. The programme will “time out” if there is no activity for a duration of 2 hours. You do not have to finish all the fields in all subforms in one go. You can go back with the Recruitment key, Loginname, Password and continue editing. Once you submitted your application you cannot make any more changes to it. You have to submit your application till the end of the closing date. You will not able to submit your application form after the closing date.

  • You can reuse your own previously submitted application by logging in to the system and creating a copy of the previous submission.

  • Should you face any specific difficulty regarding the system or should you have any specific questions regarding the vacancy announcement, please send an email to recruitment@unido.org

We wish you all the best with your application and we thank you for your interest in our Organization.

Due to the volume of applications, we regret that correspondence will normally only be undertaken with candidates who are being considered at an advanced phase of the selection process.

Since applications may only be submitted for specific vacancies, we regret that we will not be able to acknowledge all unsolicited general applications for employment.
