| Title | Creative Industries and Micro & Small Scale Enterprise Development : A Contribution to Poverty Alleviation |
| Abstract | This document introduces the concept of creative industries, its principal characteristics, its socio-economic significance, essential inputs and the integrated character of policies required to support the sustainable development of these industries. The material in Chapter One describes the context within which creative industries operate and was used to guide the analysis of the case studies presented in Chapter Two and for the format of the recommendations found at the end of this document. The present document is addressed to policy makers, development specialists, students of economic development and business as well as to the business and financial sectors that are interested in promoting economic growth, innovation and competitiveness through creativity, entrepreneurship and the promotion of creative communities as a mechanism to improve the quality of life. |
