Room 6, American University of Antigua

On 27 May 2024, UNIDO, the Organization of African Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) and the Republic of Palau will be organizing a side-event during the 4th International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4), which will take place in Antigua and Barbuda from 27 to 30 May 2024.

The international community will gather at SIDS4 to review SIDS’ sustainable development progress and propose a new decade of partnerships and solutions to supercharge their path to resilient prosperity.

One of the key areas under discussion will be the blue economy, and how to unlock the necessary investments to harness the opportunities it offers for sustainable economic transformation and low-emission, climate-resilient development.

UNIDO, OACPS and Palau will discuss with leaders from government, private sector, and international organizations potential partnerships and solutions to unlock investments into the blue economies of SIDS.

This side event will address the challenges and opportunities of mobilizing financing and building partnerships for the blue economy of SIDS to enable accelerated and sustainable growth.
