SAINT PETERSBURG, 14 October 2021 – The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) organized a series of webinars and an on-site panel discussion within the framework of the third Eurasian Women’s Forum held on 13-15 October 2021 in Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation.

VIENNA, 14 October 2021 - In celebration of World Standards Day 2021, celebrated on 14 October every year, UNIDO is pleased to announce the launch of a brochure, “Standards and Digital Transformation: Good Governance in the Digital Age”.

The Niger River is the third-longest river in Africa, running for 4,180 km (2,600 miles) from its source in south-eastern Guinea, through Mali, Niger and Nigeria, before discharging via the Niger Delta into the Gulf of Guinea in the Atlantic Ocean. Tributaries that run through a further five countries feed into the mighty Niger.

VIENNA, 11 October 2021 - UNIDO and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) have concluded a memorandum of understanding that identifies a series of technical areas for joint cooperation which include the development of agro-industries, increasing the participation of women and youth in productive activities, positioning Arab industries at the right stage of global value chains, and supporting small and medium enterprise development, trade capacity-building, and entrepreneurship development.
VIENNA, 11 October 2021 - A new report published by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Statistical Indicators of Inclusive and Sustainable Industrialization, looks at the progress made towards achieving the industry-related targets of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9 of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The report is primarily based on the SDG9 indicators related to inclusive and sustainable industrialization, for which UNIDO is designated as a custodian agency, showing the patterns of the recent changes in different country groups.
KIGALI, 8 October 2021 – An industrial diagnostic study carried out by experts from UNIDO has been validated by Rwanda’s Permanent Secretary the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Yves Bernard Ningabire, and other relevant Rwandan stakeholders, paving the way for the formulation of a Programme for Country Partnership (PCP) Rwanda.
