PHNOM PENH, 09 May 2018 – The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) hosted a high-level delegation from the Shenzhen Foundation for International Exchange and Cooperation (SFIEC) to share experiences on the development of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and to explore investment opportunities in education, trade, commerce, agro-industry and infrastructure.

LJUBLJANA, 8 May 2018 – UNIDO Deputy to the Director General, Hiroshi Kuniyoshi, completed his first official visit to Slovenia, where he held high-level discussions with government officials, research institutions, industrial park authorities and private sector representatives. During his two-day mission, Kuniyoshi also opened the first Conference on Circular Economy in Tourism in South-East Europe, which UNIDO organized in partnership with the European Union. “Tourism and its supply chain have a large impact on the environment,” said the UNIDO Deputy to the Director General.

ADDIS ABABA, 27 April 2018 - The Government of Japan has announced that it will fund a project to improve water supply, public health and general environmental quality in Ethiopia. This is one of eight new projects implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization projects (UNIDO) in Ethiopia, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Liberia, Nigeria, Somalia and the Syrian Arab Republic, with Japanese funding totaling US$5.2 million.

VIENNA, 8 May 2018 - Baobab Capital (Pty) Ltd has agreed to co-fund a United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) project to support the development of sustainable business solutions for higher value-added bush-based products in Namibia. ABIDJAN, 3 May 2018 – High-level representatives from West African fishery ministries and experts on WTO sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) agreements have come together to form the steering committee of a project to assist artisanal fisherfolk in gaining access to international markets. The project, implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), provides technical assistance on SPS standards and value chains in the fishery sectors in Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Mauritania and Senegal.
