Shanghai, 6 November 2018 – “Better Trade for Better Life: Quality Infrastructure Facilitates Trade and Sustainable Development” was the focus of an event co-organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the State Administration of Market Regulation (SAMR) of the People’s Republic of China, which took place back-to-back with the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai.

SHANGHAI, 5 November 2018 - Opportunities presented by the new technological revolution and how to seize them was the focus of a parallel session on trade and innovation held today during the Hongqiao International Economy and Trade Forum (HIETF). The HIETF, which was organized by China’s Ministry of Commerce with the support of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), brought together over 2,000 participants from almost 130 countries that represented academia, international organizations and the private sector.

SHANGHAI, 6 November 2018 – Speaking on behalf of UNIDO Director General LI Yong, Bernardo Calzadilla-Sarmiento, Director of UNIDO’s Department of Trade, Investment and Innovation, opened the Second Global Science and Technology Innovation Conference, which was held concurrently to the Second International Technology Park Expo.

SHANGHAI, 5 November 2018 – The China International Import Expo (CIIE) kicked off today in Shanghai. The Expo will run until 10 November 2018 with the participation of 20 heads of state and government, 300 government officials at minister and vice minister level, high-level representatives of United Nations and other international organizations as well as leading enterprises from over 130 countries. In total, more than 100 supporting activities will be held over the next days.
