KfW Frankfurt am Main
German Georgian Business and Cooperation Forum
Building business partnerships for inclusive and sustainable industrial development in Georgia
The German-Georgian Business and Cooperation Forum will be held on 9 October 2018 in Frankfurt am Main at the premises of KfW Bank. A joint initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ), the Government of Georgia and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), this high-level event will provide an opportunity to introduce the Georgian economy and to build partnerships among businesses.
The Forum will be attended by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Mamuka Bakhtadze and the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, Gerd Mueller. It will bring together around 80 representatives of Georgian and German companies from various sectors, including logistics and transport infrastructure, tourism, and vocational education and training. During the individual B2B exchanges organized by the UNIDO Investment and Technology Promotion Office (ITPO) Germany, the participants will have the chance to meet and discuss business opportunities. They will thereafter be able to attend the official opening of the Frankfurt Book Fair where Georgia will present its literature and culture as this year’s Guest of Honour.
Georgia has undergone extensive economic reforms in the past years, making the country a more attractive destination for foreign direct investment (FDI) and becoming an increasingly attractive economic hub with a focus on Europe. This is also reflected in the international rankings including the "Doing Business" by the World Bank, whereby Georgia ranked 9th position in 2018 and 16th in the index of Economic Freedom. Furthermore, the government and international banks expect a GDP growth of at least 4.5 per cent for the years 2019 and 2020.
Interested companies can register for the event and individual B2B exchanges here using the code German-Georgian Business. Registration closes on 28 September 2018.
