Director General participates in the UNSDG Principals’ Meeting, chaired by Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations

VIENNA, 11 May 2022 – The Director General, Gerd Müller, met Amina J. Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and Chair of the United Nations Sustainable Development Group (UNSDG), on the margins of the UNSDG Principals’ Meeting in Vienna.

At the UNSDG Principals’ Meeting, Amina Mohammed called for ever stronger efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  

The Director General reiterated UNIDO’s commitment and contribution to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and presented new UNIDO initiatives to accelerate the Organization’s efforts towards the SDG process. Important sectors include sustainable energy production and use, as well as investments to improve food security, increase agricultural productivity, and build fair supply chains with the development of local processing industries and investment in skills training.
