Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization

VIENNA, 16 March 2022 – The Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) was established in 1992 as a platform for multilateral economic cooperation. It is considered to be a prominent actor in promoting peace, growth and stability, encouraging friendly and good neighborly relations in the Black Sea region and beyond.

UNIDO has been partnering with BSEC since 1997, on the basis of a special relationship agreement focusing on investment promotion, energy, small and medium-sized enterprises, industrial statistics and the environment. BSEC has continuously expressed the interest in strengthening their relations with UNIDO in key areas of common interest. Congratulating BSCE on its thirtieth anniversary, UNIDO Director General Gerd Müller is looking forward to scaling up the partnership towards advancing inclusive and sustainable industrial development.
