About

As former ambassador to Austria, Slovakia and Slovenia and concurrently Permanent Representative of Thailand to the United Nations and Other International Organizations in Vienna. Prior to Vienna, he  served as the Director-General of the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs (2013 – 2017) after postings in Brussels, Washington D.C., and Kuala Lumpur. H. E. Ambassador Songsak has wide-ranging interests in various fields, especially education, technology, and innovation. He has been a strong advocate of science diplomacy and the inclusion of innovation, education, urban and industrial development into the scope of modern diplomacy. He is a familiar face as guest speaker and special lecturer at various institutions, agencies, NGOs and universities both in Thailand and several other countries as well as frequent contributor of articles and columns to many Thai magazines and journals. H.E. Ambassador Songsak Saicheua holds a bachelor degree in Economics from Thammasat University in Bangkok and a master degree in Industrial Location and Development from Vrije Universiteit in Brussels.
