World Productivity Database (WPD)

UNIDO’s World Productivity Database (WPD) was created in 2005. It is an offspring of a large productivity project run by UNIDO from 2003 to 2005. It contains different indicators of productivity, including labour and total factor productivity, technological change and technical efficiency, etc., all accounting for production inputs such as raw labour, physical capital, schooling, health and land. As of now, WPD covers 112 countries with data spanning 1960-2000. An update is underway and once it is completed WPD will have data for 189 countries from 1960 to 2012.
