Kevin Thompstone is an economic development consultant who has advised government, investment agency and commercial clients on special economic zone projects in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. He is the former President of Shannon Chamber of Commerce and former CEO of Shannon Development, the Irish state agency responsible for the Shannon Free Zone (SFZ) which inspired China’s SEZs following Jiang Zemin’s participation in a UNIDO sponsored SFZ training course at Shannon in 1980.
