This portfolio focuses on such thematic priorities as creating shared prosperity, advancing economic competitiveness, and safeguarding the environment. Most of this budget (73%) is directed to climate action and energy, and 14% aims at advancing economic competitiveness while 13% is meant to create shared prosperity through sustainable supply chains and agri-business.

Over the years, UNIDO has been supporting Egypt to achieve social and economic growth through the promotion of industrial development for employment generation and environmental sustainability. We will continue to support Egypt’s transformation in line with the country’s national policies and development strategies, the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for Egypt, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
