Director General meets CEO of Moroccan phosphate and fertilizer giant

VIENNA, 31 May 2022 - The Director General met Mostafa Terrab, Chairman and CEO of the OCP Group, a Moroccan state-owned company that mines phosphate, manufacturers phosphoric acid and produces fertilizer. The two discussed the OCP Group’s sustainable industrial development approach and expressed interest in expanding their collaboration in the areas of training, sustainable agriculture and agribusiness, research and development, in particular in green hydrogen and green ammonia, and technology transfer.

 

During his recent mission to Morocco, the Director General visited the OCP Group’s Jorf Lasfar plant, the largest fertilizer plant in the world. The OCP Foundation supported AGEVEC, UNIDO’s TVET project in Morocco, which has trained hundreds of young people from Morocco, Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal to maintain and use heavy duty equipment.
