BRUSSELS, 20 May 2021 - The local processing of cotton represents an undisputed potential for the socio-economic development of Burkina Faso. Its local valorization can play a significant role in the fight against poverty, the creation of jobs, and the generation of income for local communities. However, issues related to productivity, sustainability, industrial capacity, and the lack of a legal and institutional framework hinder the development of this promising sector.
