Duration: 3-6 working months

Duty Station: UNIDO Headquarters in Vienna

Organizational Context: The Information and Communication Management Services Branch enables the Organization to achieve its business and strategic goals through the provision of IT services at UNIDO Headquarters and in the field. This is done through, inter alia, coordinating and/or lead the implementation of ICT projects to ensure their cost-effective, efficient, end-user accepted and timely implementation; managing applications including developing, maintaining, testing and implementing new modules, new features, software upgrades, interfaces with other systems, technical specifications and preparing necessary documentation thereof; ensuring the quality, timeliness and integrity of the databases; developing reports and reporting facilities required by the Organization, and provide assistance for system-related services; providing system administration for the enterprise resource planning (ERP).

Tasks: Under the overall guidance of the Chief, the intern will perform the following tasks:

1. Study the work and functions of the Information and Communication Management Services Branch;

2. Research the administration for the enterprise resource planning (ERP);

3. Assist in the day-to-day functions of ICM staff;

4. Draft reports and perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification requirements:

a.) Minimum academic background and/or field of specialisation required: first-level university degree in Computer Science and enrolment in a higher-level university programme.

b.) Computer literacy: Microsoft Windows, proficient use of processing tools such as Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required.

c.) Language skills: Fluency in English required, good knowledge of another official UN working language desirable.
