Vietnamese entrepreneurs visit China to learn about lacquerware production

FUZHOU CITY, Viet Nam, 19 May 2012 - The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) supported a study tour by Vietnamese lacquer producers, local Government staff, experts and researchers to  China that ended today.

During the five-day trip, the Vietnamese delegation visited lacquer ware companies, museums and the University of Art in what is considered to be the Chinese lacquer capital of the country, Fuzhou City, as well as one of the biggest lacquer companies in Nanjing.

During the visit, the participants shared information on the existing situation of the lacquer industry in Viet Nam and China.

The delegation also visited the Institute of Chemical Industry of Forest Products, and the Chinese Academy of Forestry where they shared research on lacquer and initiated a cooperation on how to improve the general quality of the products.

The Vietnamese entrepreneurs received new knowledge on how to apply cleaner production techniques and improve the quality of the products for more profit and sustainable development. The visit also promoted South-South cooperation between China and Viet Nam.
