NAIROBI, 8 May 2020 - The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) has launched a two-month food safety awareness campaign to sensitize people in Kenya about food safety amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
VIENNA, 4 May, 2020 - Due to the COVID-19 emergency, this year, the UNCTAD’s E-commerce Week was conducted over Webex videoconferencing from 27 April-1 May 2020. The conference convened stakeholders from different sectors to discuss the role e-commerce can play in supporting communities in addressing various challenges in these unprecedented times.

CAIRO, 9 April 2020 – Experts from the Arab Network of Food Risk Analysis (AFRANet) have issued a technical review of the latest scientific knowledge on COVID-19 and the associated virus SARS-CoV-2 in relation to the implications on food safety and food business operations. AFRANet’s review, which is in Arabic, was organized by way of virtual meetings and email exchanges involving eight experts representing seven Arab countries.

VIENNA, 6 April 2020 – The regional chapter of the UN reform keeps moving forward steadily. The Arab region’s Regional Collaborative Platform (RCP) met last week virtually to reach agreement in the final configuration of the so-called "issues-based coalitions" (IBCs). The final design served to include a sub-group on economic management which will be co-convened by UNIDO’s Arab Regional Division.
